WorldChanger Vocational Training Center
Creating Opportunities for the Future
For most young people in Tanzania, a solid vocational education is out of reach. Many young people have talent and potential—but no chance to develop them. This plight moved us deeply. That is why, in 2017, we launched our first vocational training program for disadvantaged girls in the field of tailoring.
With great dedication and support from Germany, we were able to build a vocational training center in the small town of Mugumu—and officially inaugurate it in 2024. Today, we offer state-recognized training programs in:
- Tailoring & Fashion Design
- Hairdressing & Beauty
- IT & Computers
Our Mission
Our students receive a practical, high-quality education. We are the first vocational training center in the Serengeti District to meet the VETA quality standard—the government’s certification of vocational training in Tanzania.
This means:

✅ recognized credentials
✅ modern, values-based education
We are also a school that instills strong values—for personal development, responsibility, and a strong sense of community.
Expansion and Future Plans
In the coming years, we would like to introduce additional urgently needed vocational training programs:
- Metalworking
- Electronics & Photovoltaics
- Plumbing
- Agriculture
To do this we need:
🏗️ a workshop building for technical training
🏘️ a boarding school for the growing number of students
Only in this way can we open up even more future opportunities for young people.

Workshop building for practical training
Starting in the summer of 2026, our WorldChanger vocational school will be able to offer our students a state-recognized diploma (VETA). This will give them significantly better opportunities in the job market. As a technical VETA college, we must—and want to — also offer trades-based programs. Starting in January 2027, we plan to train electricians and plumbers, who are in high demand. Metalworking and carpentry will follow later. To make this happen, we absolutely need a simple workshop building equipped with standard local machinery by December 2026 so that we can conduct hands-on training. We believe that education is the key to real change.
At the WorldChanger Vocational Training Center in Tanzania, young people have the opportunity to learn a trade and build a self-reliant future.
To enable as many students as possible to attend school, we use the 80/20 model:
Students pay 80% of the actual tuition fees themselves. The remaining 20% is financed through a shared tuition fund.
Students from particularly difficult life situations can—after review by the Tanzanian social services office—even receive 50% to 100% financial assistance.
The school fees cover the following costs, among others:
- Teaching materials
- Teacher salaries
- School meals
Here's how you can help
“Partner” School Sponsorship
- 50 € per month (or more) for two school years (equivalent to the duration of a vocational training program)
- Your donation goes into the tuition fund, thereby supporting every student
- You’ll receive 2–4 newsletters per year via email or mail, featuring regular insights into daily school life and stories from our students

Eine ehemalige Schülerin, Mariam, berichtet
Ich wuchs auf mit meiner Mutter und 6 weiteren Geschwistern, mein Vater starb zeitig. Wir hatten nie genug Geld für eine gute Schulbildung, manche Tage hatten wir nichts zu essen. Immerhin konnte ich ein paar wenige Jahre in die Schule gehen. Einen Beruf zu erlernen, wäre für mich nie möglich gewesen. Die Idee, mich gegen Geld jung zu verheiraten oder im Rotlichtmilieu Geld zu verdienen, war ein möglicher Ausweg, aber das wollte ich nicht. Ich habe zu Gott gebetet, dass er mir irgendwie hilft.
Schließlich bekam ich die Möglichkeit, bei WorldChanger eine vollwertige Berufsausbildung zur Schneiderin abzuschließen. Gott hat mein Gebet erhört, denn das war für mich die Chance meines Lebens. Heute habe ich in Mugumu eine eigene kleine Nähstube, meine Kunden sind sehr zufrieden. Ich kann mein eigenes Geld verdienen.
