Every day at WorldChanger, we cook at least 150 meals to feed our students and children. To reduce the high cost of food, we decided to grow our own corn, beans, and vegetables. To do this, we leased just under 3 hectares of land.
First, we had to loosen up the hard and partly sandy savanna soil and enrich it with natural fertilizers such as cow manure. After that, we were able to plant various seedlings and seeds just in time. During the last rainy season, God blessed us with timely rain, and now the first vegetables are already ripe. Our vocational students are happy to help with the harvest.
Irrigation Project
Monique is a dedicated young woman from our WeltBeweger circle of friends; she is a trained gardener and knows a lot about agriculture. Last year, as part of our “Come and See” trip, she visited our WorldChanger mission in Tanzania.
There, she came up with the idea of installing a water-saving drip irrigation system in Mugumu. This will make it possible to grow vegetables even during the dry season, which has several benefits for the students and WorldChangers.
No sooner said than done. In March 2026, a dedicated group led by Monique will travel to Mugumu to install the modern irrigation system. What a blessing! Thank you for your valuable efforts!
